Sorrento

The land of sirens, greek- roman origins still visible like the city walls and the street system north-south, east-west; nowadays is an international holiday resort, also greatly appreciated for the particular geographical aspect; situated on a bank of volcanic rock, forming a steep coastline, in which the sea erosion has created small beaches; the littoral is composed by two small fishermen villages: Marina Grande, Marina Piccola; the former is a small picturesque one, with bathing establishments, the latter is the harbour, terminal of the hydrofoils to Capri, Ischia, Naples; the mild climate and the natural beauties have always been appreciated by visitors from all over the world over the centuries and many printers have captured in a series of paintings and engravings.

Capri

Of all itineraries one of the most beatifull place is Capri. Limestone, calcareous island, 4 miles long, two miles wide, it is famous since the roman age as the residence of the Emperors Augustus Ceasar and Tiberius. Its fame is also due to the Blue Grotto and the deluxe shops and restaurant surrounding la Piazzetta (the small square) of Capri also called the island. Night life on the island is particular hectic.

Positano

Steeping down to the sea from the state road, the picturesque town is also known as the Christmas Crib, The Nativity for its architecture very morish like in domes of the all local houses, the pergolas surrounding the villas are all covered with bougainvilleas, like carpets of flowers, forming the most fascinating view, sloping down to an emerald coloured sea.

Amalfi

City of roman origins it was the first maritime republic in Italy with its own coinage (Tarì); birth place of Flavio Gioia inventor of the sea compass; to be visited the cathedral dedicated to St. Andrew, the cloister of paradise and the Emerald Grotto.

Ischia

The island emerged out of the sea 350.000 years ago; it is wel know for its lush vegetation as the green island; it is also the only island in the bay with sandy beaches; the thermal spa have made its tourist fortune with hundreds of natural springs used for all different diseases (rheumatism, arthrosis, etc).

Massa Lubrense

It is one of the tips of the peninsula with interesting monuments like the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the small fishermen village of Marina della Lobra; it is also the departure point for walking excursions to Termini and Punta Campanella which is the final stretch of the Peninsula right in front of Capri.

Napoli

It is the capital of southern Italy, the third most populated city with 2 millions of inhabitants; hundreds of churches, the archaeological museum, the opera’s house (S. Carlo), the royal palace and the Angevin Castle are the musts to be visited; but Naples is also the city of restaurant and pizzerias, with the most classical local dishes, and perfect for shopping along the Via Chiaia and Via Dei Mille all the to Piazza Dei Martiri.
